The 3rd Sask Morgan & Open Horse Show in Estevan, Saskatchewan was well attended both by exhibitors and by spectators in spite of the sweltering over 30C temps. With over forty people participating, almost 20 Morgans and 20 Open horses graced the show ring, and $1300 in prize money was awarded. People of all ages competed in halter, gymkhana, equitation, sportsmanship, Western and English classes. This year there was also an Open Stakes Team Driving class added for those who own a team and wanted to showcase their ability (both drivers and horses!). The club is most pleased to see many youth in the South Eastern part of Saskatchewan who own or borrowed Morgans for the show. Truly the youth is the future of any club, and we hope to keep our youth interested and participating. Attendants from the three prairie provinces were very pleased by the warm and friendly attitude of others, and found this little show to be a nice change from the serious and sometimes contentious competitions elsewhere.
